The Stones, The Words

A couple of weeks ago, I was at a gem show. Summer is here and my plan is to create as much inventory as I possibly can. When Fall gets here, I can just sit back and sell, sell, sell. Right! We know how well these plans go, don't we? The gem show was a rather small one, but I was able to pick up some really cool beads and pendants.

A favorite, these gem stone pendants with words inscribed on them. Since they did not have holes drilled, the challenge was to either drill holes for the bail or be creative in how to hang them. My first attempt is this Howlite pendant with "Laugh" written on it. I created a cage with seed beads and hung the pendant off a seed bead woven bail. I am thrilled with the outcome and the earthy colors. There is something to be said about wearing a special word close to your heart. What do you think?

I could not resist, so I bought several of the pendants. Now to get really creative with them. Any ideas?

Oh wow, they're beautiful. I'd be selfish and keep them! Not very good for business, is it?

Love those pendants! I think you did a excellent job of fitting the gem in a cage made from seed beads :) Beautiful!

I have some river rocks that lay like dinosaur eggs among many others in the dry creek bed that runs between my driveway and front yard.
